Ghana, Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan adopted strategies on poverty
Recently, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan adopted national strategies for poverty reduction. Twenty-eight countries, including these three have so far adopted such documents. It is a responsibility of all indebted poor countries, covered with the Initiative for depth reduction that the World Bank is implementing with the International Development Association - IDA.
These strategies are prepared by the citizens, with wide participation of all segments in the society, and their goal is to provide foreign help funds for reducing the debts and to be a framework for coordination of the assistance, coming from the outside partners for poverty reduction.
