 Strengthening and promotion of democratic processesThe National Democratic Institute (NDI), with headquarters in Washington D.C., was formed in 1983 with one general objective: to strengthen the democratic institutions and pluralistic values in the new democracies and the ones in development. Nowadays, NDI carries out its activity on four continents, in numerous local offices, responding to the needs of the newly-democratic societies and in that context, cooperating with the non-governmental organizations as a meaningful participant in the democratic processes.
