Annual Assembly of the Macedonian Journalists’ Association (MJA)
New management elected
The Macedonian Journalists’ Association held their Annual Assembly and elected the new management. They also adopted the report on the so-far activities and presented the projected activities for the future period. Robert Popovski, reporter from the national TV station Kanal 5, was elected new president. He, together with the new executive board, will direct the future activities towards increasing the number of MJA members (the present number is 714) and towards motivating the journalists to involve actively in the realization of the Association’s goals and strategy, its managing with a final goal of financial stabilization and generating funds for sustainable and continuous operation, providing legal protection for the journalists, reconstructing the Council of Honor, an initiative for setting up an independent journalist’s trade union and maintaining continuity in the international contacts with similar associations from other countries via membership in the International Journalists’ Federation.
