Interparliamentary lobby-group
Fifteen new lobbyists for the rights of the disabled
Starting from last year, fifteen members of the newly elected parliament have been operating as members of the Interparliamentary lobby-group for the rights of the disabled, the president of which is Ratko Dimitrovski. Among the members are Silvana Boneva, Roza Topuzova – Karevska, Radmila Sekerinska, Besim Dogani, Fijat Canovski and others who will continue working on the field of legal regulation related to the rights of the disabled. The new membership was promoted on 4 December 2006 when the lobby-group marked their four-year work. It has been established in cooperation with Polio Plus – a post-polio group for support. At the event for marking the four-year work, under the motto “Together we build a society for everyone”, the group rounded up the joint results that are presented in the book called “System legislation for the disabled”.
“The continuous application of the laws has grown into a natural answer of the legal system developments towards the new challenges and needs. The lobby group set the adoption of the system goal to be their main goal in the long-term action plan. It will be the basis for passing specific laws and it will incorporate the elements of protection and implementation of the adopted norms”, says Zvonko Savreski, Polio Plus president.
The new lobby-group has 18 members, four old and fourteen new members. Regarding the gender structure, ten of the members are women and nine are men.
