The Skopje Red Cross is getting ready to enter the Guinness

Blood donating actions mobilize a lot of people

Blood donating actions are still events that mobilize the biggest number of blood donors and that is why they are constantly in the agenda of planned activities of the Red Cross and its long-years successful collaborator, the Republic Bureau of Transfusion.

The latest big campaign, that is, the caravan for advancing and promoting blood donating in Macedonia, was organized by the Skopje Red Cross, in the course of March and April, with generous help from Cosmofon. The caravan went through seven towns, and 816 blood units were collected. In Skopje, eminent people had been invited from the political and diplomatic establishment, the business community, the media, as well as actors, sportsmen, show business and civil society organizations. 205 blood units were collected in the action. In the course of May, a 24-hour blood donating action is planned on the territory of the whole country and in the Red Cross they hope that the action will justly enter the Guinness book of records.

The caravan has enabled in Tetovo to be realized 30 blood units, in Kavadarci 122 blood units, in Bitola 205 blood units. Within seven hours, 82 people donated blood in Ohrid, 137 blood units were collected in Vinica and 85 in Kumanovo. The blood donating actions were supported by the local self-government, the social sector, the business community and the media people. The humane act of donating joins people of different religions and nations and leads to the road of cooperation and unselfish support every time it is necessary.
