Strengthening the civil society in Macedonia
Representatives of civil society organizations and the Government, at the beginning of December in Skopje took part at the conference “Participation of citizens and civil society organizations in the process of policy making and making decisions” and agreed that there was a need for bigger and more essential participation of the public and civic sector in the processes of policy making and making decisions”. The best practices and principles related to the right of informing, consulting and citizens’ active participation were discussed during the process of policymaking in Estonia, Poland, Croatia and Slovakia. The conference was organized within the Project for strengthening civil society in Macedonia, financed by USAID and carried out by a consortium led by the Institute for Sustainable Communities in cooperation with the European Center for Non-Profit Law.
