Macedonian and European flag on the Vodno top

The ambassador Donato Chiarini, head of the European Commission Delegation in Macedonia, delivered the EU flag to the representatives from the association "European Movement in RM" and the mountaineering association "Korab", who took it, together with the Macedonian flag on the mountain Vodno.

This was one of the activities by which the European Commission Delegation marked 9 May, the European Day. The Minister of Transport and Relations, Mr. Milaim Ajdini, the ambassador Chiarini and the head of the European Agency for Reconstruction, Mr. Daniel Juliaris joined the activities and visited the project for e-75 high-way construction, financed by the EU.  The May Opera Evenings were also opened under the EU flag. On this occasion,  the EU informative points were opened at the Informative centers at the municipalities of Bitola, Kumanovo, Gostivar, Kocani and Kavadarci. The EC Delegation has also participated into several debates related to the EU and organized by the "European Movement in RM". This year, the EC Delegation established the award "Jean Monet" for the best journalist article on EU. The award will be presented by Prof. Dimitar Mircev, president of the "European Movement in RM".

The European Day has been established on the occasion of publishing the Schumann Declaration, prepared by the French Foreign Officer Robert Schumann on 9 May 1950, which announced the plan for establishing the Community for Coal ad Steel between France and Germany.
