Danger/risk
It is a rare or extreme event in the nature or caused by man and it unfavorably influences people’s life, estate or regular activities in dimensions, which can cause a disaster.
 

Disaster
disaster caused by natural phenomena, e.g. earthquake, flood, tropical storm, volcano eruption, or bad ecological, social, economic or political situation in an area.


Natural disaster
Is a method of initiating the process of learning and opinion creating, as well as initiating one group’s desire to achieve mutual objectives. Moderating is carried out in the following stages: opening (introduction, warming-up and opening the group, expressing the needs and interests, explaining the topics and objectives, problems identification); central part (problems discussion, information exchange and discussion, looking for solutions, noting the results); conclusion (presenting the results, deciding what to do, feedback).


Disaster caused by man
Is an emergency situation where the basic direct reasons are identified as deliberate or other human activity. In contrast to the “technological” or “ecological” disasters, these mainly refer to situation when there are civil life losses, estate losses or losses of the basic services and means of life as a result of a war or civil war.


Disaster management
a term which covers all aspects of planning and response to accidents, including the activities before and after the disaster and it refers to both risks and consequences management from the disasters.


Vulnerability
a range where the individual, community, group, structure, service or geographical area is subjected to damages or destruction as a result of a certain danger from disaster.
