Strengthening welfare and philanthropy
European Foundation Center (EFC) is an independent, international and unprofitable association with its headquarters in Belgium. It was founded in 1989 by seven big European foundations. It has over 200 members and it serves about 250 initiatives of communities whose activities are directed towards humanitarian activities. EFC makes contact through the information network, with 48.000 organizations worldwide and it supports centers in 37 countries in the world.
The EFC vision is existence of a community of good information, inspired, loyal and independent providers of assets which will be included in seeking solutions for the challenges which the humankind in Europe and all over the world faces.
EFC is an association dedicated to strengthening people’s welfare, that is philanthropy. It supports civic society in the European countries and worldwide. The association offers help in the efforts to support independent, responsible and sustainable financiers in new Europe, especially when this fundamental human right unites the private capital for initiating the needs for public benefit.
In the realization of its activities, EFC has three priorities: presentation and monitoring in the European institutions, World bank and United Nations institutions; offering services to the membership, including networking, and consulting services in the sphere of legislation and fiscal issues, as well as offering possibilities for expanding members’ professional development; and offering services in the sphere of public informing the foundations and the financiers who cooperate with them.
