Workshop on fund-raising
From 25-29 May this year, the Third International Workshop on Fund Raising will take place in Kiev, Ukraine. The goal of this series of workshops is to emphasize the basic problems that the NGOs in Eastern Europe are facing. The workshop will locate sources of funds in the field of building society and will be a developing instrument for the NGO. The motto of The Third International Workshop on Fund Raising is "Providing assets - developing the society" The NGO participants, social projects and the local government from the former Soviet republics and from South-Eastern Europe are invited to apply for the workshop. Second World Congress on Family Violence
The Second World Congress on Family Violence provides an opportunity for interdisciplinary and multicultural learning for the health care, education, law, children and adults' protection, public policy, human rights protection, public health, government and inter-government agencies and NGO experts. The Second World Congress on Family Violence will take place from 21-26 June this year in Prague. The deadline for application is 31 May. More information on www.wcfv.org
London
Open office of The Open Society
A new office from the Open Society network, financed by George Soros, has been opened in London. This office will help the network in building partnerships with the donors, serve as a channel for flow of information, establishing contacts, it will help in promoting coalitions, at the same time giving logistic support to the international counselling board of the Open Society Institute.
Interdisciplinary Conference on Central and Eastern Europe
The School for Slavonic and Eastern-European Studies (SSEES) at the University College in London is organizing an interdisciplinary conference on Central and Eastern Europe, that will take place in November this year. SSEES invites you to submit reports regarding the broader and various relations between the countries, institutions and individuals in this region (some more important experiences as well as everyday examples).
