All in good time
Is there a more used and more applicable saying than the one in the heading? As if your life starts with it, and than it follows you all the time, as if it wants to protect you from unpleasant moments. All in good time, the first love, the first bad mark at school, the first misunderstanding with the parents, teachers, environment...And so it goes that in life, consciously or unconsciously we accept this catchword. It is probably because we understand its advantage, we can replace with it a fifteen-minute explanation on why something shouldn't or mustn't be done right now, and besides that, you needn't say no.
Before we start preparing Civic World we considered all our complaints on how the first magazine on civil society in Macedonia should look. And you probably guess, "all in good time" has done the job. Almost three and a half years ago, the first 16-page pilot-edition of the Civic World appeared, in two colours and several standard columns. Since than, the magazine has been upgraded several times. The changes mainly referred to increasing the number of pages and enriching the contents, all in good time.
This time we thought it was right to make a bigger step forward. Besides the new four pages where we will present several new columns, the magazine went through some changes in the design.
However, the most serious step is the attempt to place the Civic World on the market. It means that part of its circulation will be on sale.
The goal of all that is to provide the desired self-sustainability of the magazine.
In the last several months, or better said in the last year, we heard so many stories about leaving the foreign donors from the country. We also spoke a lot about the need to find other sources of income that will be available to the civic sector, thus continuing the activities of the civic organizations.
The time for this had to come. To try into practice and check the assumptions from the previous period and see if we are able to sustain an initiative as the Civic World.
The Civic World, with its new look, will be available to you as before, via e-mail and for free. In the first months, only part of the circulation will be on sale, and then, all in good time. And time passes, carrying with it some advantages that we were used to. The new time asks for new qualities, ideas, new ways of work. We will have to get used to them, but as I have already said several times in this article - all in good time!
