EC Delegation announces the 2005 ‘Jean Monnet’

Journalist Award Competition
 

The Delegation of the European Commission announces the 2005 ‘Jean Monnet’ Journalist Award Competition for best article on EU related matters. 

The ‘Jean Monnet’ award is presented to print journalists for outstanding achievements in covering EU matters and increasing awareness about the Stabilisation and Association process. 

The award consists of a small statue and money award amounting to €500.

The participants should submit the following documents:

·         Curriculum Vitae;
·         Photocopy of the article;
·         Name and address of the medium;
·         Telephone, fax or e-mail. 

The entries should meet the following criteria: 

·         They should be author’s texts signed with the author’s real name;
·         They should demonstrate substantial analytical skills, newsworthiness, accuracy and personal style;
·         They should be published in the period 17 November 2004 – 17 November 2005 (the date of publication and the name of the medium should be indicated).

No more than three published articles may be submitted.

The evaluation of the articles will be carried out by an independent jury, including experts from professional media associations, academic institutions, representatives of the embassies of the EU Member states and candidate countries, and the Delegation of the European Commission in Skopje.

At the discretion of the jury, awards may not be granted if the submitted entries do not meet the above listed requirements.

The deadline for the entries is 17.00hrs, 28 November 2005, (the mailing date on envelopes will be taken into consideration) at the following address:

The award giving ceremony will take place on 15 December 2005.

The 2005 'Jean Monnet' Journalist Award is organised in close collaboration with the Macedonian Institute for Media.
