Women NGO Health Education Capacity Strenghting: Resource Centers
The resource centres were established within the existing women's non-governmental organisations in the beginning of 2000.
The resource centres were provided with technical equipment, appropriate to their needs and, at the same time, persons, trained for management of the resource centres, were employed. The employees are responsible for collection of data on relevant non-governmental organisations, projects, human resources, international organisations, etc.
The following persons are employed at the resource centres: Vesna Jovanova, ESE; Drita Selmani, LAWM; Julijana Markova, OW Shtip; Jasminka Ismailovska, ROWM "Daja"; Jovana Trencevska, OW Strumica; Radmila Stojanova and Biljana Krsteska, "Prestige"; Maja Dilberova, OOWM; Svetlana Janeva and Natasa Dimitrievska, UOWM.
Each resource centre has a database on implemented projects and training in Macedonia. Special software was prepared enabling information flow among the resource centres. However, the central resource centre working within ESE is responsible for collection of data from all other resource centres. The resource centres also have their own libraries with appropriate literature.
Since the beginning of October, the resource centres started analysing a total of 19 daily and weekly newspapers and magazines in Macedonian, Albanian and Turkish.
During the first stage, the analysis consists of quantitative data on the number of articles concerning women, their position in the press and the topics of the articles. The second forthcoming stage will consist of qualitative analysis, which will be made public.
