Civil Education- a step closer to the European integration

 

“The project is an example for the development of the civil education and for cooperation between the civil and the governmental sector”

  

The plenary session on subject “Civil Education - a step closer to the European integration” organized by the Macedonian centre for Civil Education in Macedonia, was held in the administrative building of Skopje Fair from 13:00 to 14:30, on 3rd of December. MCCS has conducted a project under the same title, in cooperation with the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the ministry of education and science.

Gorica Muckovska, counsellor in the auditing department in the ministry of education and science, was the first presenter of the topic as she herself has been a part of the team in the project of MCCS. “The cooperation with MCCS, CRS and the state institutions, i.e. the ministry of education and science, is the perfect example of the mode of cooperation between the civil and the governmental sector. As a result, when we made the decisions on the subject what and in which way we should include the civil society into the learning process of the students, we   worked them out together. The civil education is a part of the educational system throughout all countries in the European Union, hence, we ( the civil sector, the teachers, the students and the parents) have realized that there is absolutely no obstacle for us to start implementing and study this area also into our educational  system” stated Ms Mickovska.

Liljana Gorgiovska, counsellor in the Institution of Pedagogy, as one of the presenters in the topic  emphasised that not only the consciousness of the parents and  teachers had been awaken, but also the counsellors’, as also they have been an integral part in the multi-yearly project of the MMCS.

The professor of the Faculty of Pedagogy in Skopje, Vlado Timovski, in his exposition in the session clarified: “Today we deal with several dilemmas- school and religion, school and informatics, school and ecology, school and political engagements…… Furthermore the mission of the school is to initiate awareness for a democratic research”.

Marija Miloshevska, the manager of the peace -science department within the Ministry of education and science, as one of the final presenters, has stated that the civil concept of education is not any news in our country, since it had been noted in the first constitution of Macedonia, in the ASNOM declaration.

The organizer of the session and the conductor of the project for civil education, MCCS, together with all of the presenters at the end came to the same conclusion and accordance- although the project has ended, the process of the civil education must not stop and everybody should continue   

promoting it.
